Lt. Marcarelli to be sworn in as deputy chief on Friday
NORTH HAVEN -- The public is invited Friday to witness the swearing in of the new deputy fire chief, Lt. David J. Marcarelli.
Marcarelli has been chosen by the Fire Commission to replace Frank Gersz, who retired on Friday.
The ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. 5/6 at North Haven Fire Headquarters, 11 Broadway. Refreshments will be served.
Marcarelli, a Wallingford resident, has been a firefighter for 18 years. He holds a master’s in business administration and has taught fire-related classes at Gateway Community College and Middlesex County Regional Fire Training School.
