Wanna buy something from the cops?
I know it's a little late to be notifiying you, but on Oct. 2, that's tomorrow, the Hamden Department of Police Services is auctioning off a number of unclaimed items. I hear there's a lawn mower and a few weed whackers you can get pretty cheap.
Viewing begins at 9:30 a.m. and the auction starts at 10 at the department, 2900 Dixwell Ave.
All of the property will be sold "as is," said Capt. Ronald Smith. Some of the bicycles are in need of minor repairs.
All of the property is unclaimed, found property that is related to cases that have been disposed of, Sgt. Anthony Diaz said. Jewelry and electronics also will be auctioned.
The starting bid on all bicycles will be $10. Anyone who participates in the auction will be required to pay a $1 non-refundable fee. All proceeds will benefit the Hamden Police Benevolent Association.
The rain date is Sunday.
