Dan's the Man with the Memorial Day Parade
NORTH HAVEN -- Well, Dan is the man and Charlie is the man too. And let's not forget George Breuler, Howard Luppi, George Thomson and Steve Wronski, this year's grand marshal.
I'm talking about the North Haven Memorial Day Parade. The 46th annual parade through downtown North Haven at 10 a.m. May 28.
Dan "The Man" Riccio is the commander American Legion Post 76, who is teaming up with folks like Charlie Morrissey and the other aforementioned to bring you the best parade yet. George is the parade chairman.
It's also going to be big.
There are 65 units: Lancraft Fife & Drum; the Connecticut Hurricanes, the Stony Creek Marching Band, the Gaelic Marching Band, to name a few.
"There are a couple of surprises," Dan said.
Also participating in the parade are youth sports groups, the Police and Fire departments and veterans groups.
"It's going to be a great parade," he said.
At 9 a.m. May 28, there will be a wreath ceremony on the town green, to be attended by various clergy and dignitaries.
And, here's Dan, so you know who I'm talking about:
